Thinking about frontend performance as a top priority
Building sophisticated and performant drag and drop interfaces
Debugging thorny and complex bugs without much to go on
Reading and suggesting improvements to open source projects that are at the core of the Gamma web application
Building out integrations and embedded apps
What you'll do:

Our ideal candidate has:
3-7 years experience as a frontend software engineer
A strong understanding of:
Modern JavaScript / TypeScript and ReactJS (w/hooks)
Asynchronous programming in JavaScript (promises, macro/micro tasks and the event loop, async/await, etc...)
The browser document object model and React's virtual DOM
How mutation observers and event propagation work
Experience with the state management in React, preferably with Redux
Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals (e.g. you're capable of writing vanilla JS instead of using lodash or jQuery)
Experience working in large complex production scale frontend codebases
Experience working with mature APIs (REST or GraphQL)
Bonus points for:
Experience with ProseMirror or other document editor frameworks
Experience with large language models and AI prompting
Experience programming with TypeScript
Experience with Prisma and Apollo GraphQL
Contributions to open source projects (big or small)
Experience with websockets and realtime data synchronization
Experience with Node, NestJS, or Express
Experience with NextJS

Unlimited PTO and flexible hours — we encourage everyone to take time off as needed!
Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including but not limited to experience and expertise in the requirements listed above.
If you're interested about this role but you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply anyway! We're always excited about meeting great people and we care about more than the bullet points on your resume.
